1. Agreement and eligibility
These Terms form an agreement between you and VNL Works Inc. when you access whatthe?. You must be at least 16 years old and legally able to enter this agreement. If local law requires additional consent for users aged 16–17, you may use the service only after that requirement is satisfied.
2. Your account
- Use only Apple or Google sign-in and provide accurate information.
- Keep control of your sign-in account and device.
- Do not sell, transfer, automate, or create accounts to evade restrictions.
- Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
3. Your content
You keep ownership of content you create. You give VNL Works Inc. a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt for technical delivery, distribute, and display that content only as needed to operate, promote, secure, and improve whatthe?. The licence ends when the content is deleted, except for reasonable backup, legal, safety, and enforcement retention.
- You must have the rights and permissions needed to post your content.
- Do not record or share another person without any consent required by law.
- Voice-only does not make harmful or unlawful content acceptable.
4. Prohibited use
You may not use whatthe? to break the law, exploit or endanger minors, threaten violence, promote hate, harass or dox people, share non-consensual sexual content, impersonate others, defraud users, spam, manipulate engagement, scrape data, overload infrastructure, distribute malware, reverse engineer protected systems, or evade moderation and blocking. The Community Guidelines form part of these Terms.
5. Moderation and enforcement
We may review reports and sampled content, reduce distribution, remove content, warn or restrict accounts, temporarily suspend access, permanently ban accounts, preserve evidence, and cooperate with authorities when appropriate. We may act without advance notice when necessary to protect people or the service. You may contact Safety to request review of an enforcement decision.
6. Service changes
We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue features. Early versions may contain bugs or change quickly. We will try to give reasonable notice when a change materially affects your rights or access, unless urgent safety, legal, or security action is required.
7. Disclaimers and liability
To the extent permitted by law, whatthe? is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not promise uninterrupted availability or that all user content will be accurate or appropriate. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded. To the extent permitted by law, VNL Works Inc. is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss arising from use of the service.
8. Ending the agreement
You may stop using whatthe? and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access when you breach these Terms, create risk or legal exposure, or when the service is discontinued. Provisions that by their nature should survive will remain effective.
9. Governing law
Subject to mandatory consumer protections in your country, these Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Disputes will be submitted to the courts with jurisdiction over VNL Works Inc., unless applicable law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.
